Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile began the execution and implementation of the Accelerated Patent Procedure pilot program.
During Pacific Alliance XI Convention held in the city of Puerto Varas, Chile, representatives from Industrial Property Offices of Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile, met in order to make a joint statement in order to start the process of execution and implementation of the Accelerated Patent Procedure (PPH) pilot program.
This program will allow, from Chile, that applicants who have obtained a favorable decision of patentability from the Industrial Property National Institute (Inapi), can benefit from the work done in Chile and request that it will be taken into account by Industrial Property National Offices of the involved countries.
The biggest advantage of this program is that it will accelerate the patentability examining process of offices and will reduce associated expenses, avoiding duplication of effort in administrative actions, patent search and examination in parallel by each office.
